Wilton Fondant and Gumpaste, Lesson 1

The time has come for another Wilton course! Rach and I had signed up for the Fondant and Gumpaste class two other times but it was always cancelled because of low enrollment. Finally, we started last week!

It was expensive starting up because it required an entire new set of supplies that differed from those required for Course I and II. Even though the cost was up there, I was excited because...well...I love crafting supplies. And school supplies. And scrapbooking supplies...

Anyway, in order to stay organized, I bought a rolling cart and filled it with the required supplies, and my Wilton kit fits right on top!

We did not do much for the first lesson, just learned the proper care for the fondant and how to cover a cake board. Tomorrow's class will introduce us to the techniques and our decorating is going to be a hodge-podge of things. I am really looking forward to learning more because I am hoping to make J's Twilight birthday cake out of homemade marshmallow fondant!
