Logan: 11 Months

First, can I address that he is almost 1 and I am just posting this?  And second, that these photo shoots are becoming increasingly more difficult?

Little man.  How on earth are you almost one year old already??  While Mama is deep into planning your 1st birthday party, you are growing by leaps and bounds and become such a personality.

You are an unstoppable crawling machine.  You love to be chased around the dining room table and if no one is, you will crawl a few paces, stop, and look back and smile to coerce ANYONE into chasing you.  No walking yet, but you are so dang close!  Pulling up on everything, walking along walls and tables, crawling up the stairs.  You even went down one step into your aunt's family room.  I really think by Christmas you will be toddling everywhere.  This all has made your monthly photo shoots kind of a nightmare.  I couldn't get you to stay still for anything.

Diaper changes are the devil.  'Nuff said.

You have six teeth, but I really think more are on their way.  You are exceptionally drooly.

The best part about the last month or so is that you return our love now.  You give the best squeezes and sloppy open-mouthed kisses.  Even though you are constantly on the move, you also are very snuggly at times.  You will crawl over to us with your arms up and snuggle in.  You still refuse to sit still on the couch or chair with us, unless we are reading to you, but that time is limited.  You are a man on a mission.

You love other kids and now that there are two other little ones at your babysitter's, you are thrilled (as are Mommy and Daddy).  You just love people and rarely show signs of shyness, unless you are a sleepy boy.

Sometimes you are taking one nap a day, sometimes two.  Honestly, you are making your own schedule.  We put you down when you are tired and sleep from anywhere from 1-3 hours.  The longer the morning nap, the less inclined you are to take an afternoon nap.  You are eating nothing but solids (and have been for months now) and love most foods.  When you are sleepy, you want nothing to do with eating though.

Mister, I love watching you grow and learn.  You love to hide your toys and find them or put them under furniture.  You love crawling around (and chewing on) books and love to wrestle.

You continue to be the best part of my day.  Thank you, little man.

Logan: 8 Months (and 2 weeks)

My sweet, sweet boy. Mama is running late with this post. Because, well, in the last few weeks, we have been so busy and I am soaking up every possible minute with you before I go back to work

Oh little man. You are such a character. You love to laugh and giggle and you find all dogs HI-LARIOUS. Ozzie, Nonna and Papa's doggies, Grandma and Grandpa's doggy...you see them and just laugh and go crazy.

You love being outside and around people. In fact, you are starting to throw tantrums if no one is paying attention to you. I don't think it is separation anxiety, but you are just such a ham and want to be the center of attention.

You had your first over-nighter at Nonna and Papa's (Mommy's parents)! You did awesome!! Slept like a good boy in your pack n play!

You have TWO TEETH! They came up at the SAME TIME! I am pretty sure more are on their way because you are chewing on everything in sight and are a drooley mess.

You are still eating 32 ounces of formula a day (4 8-ounce bottles) and trying to get you to eat baby food is a huge battle that Daddy and I are giving up on. We are moving you to table food and you are much happier. We are holding on to your bouncy seat for dear life because you still like to sit in it to eat your bottle. In fact, you try to hold it with your feet sometime! Silly boy!

You are reaching out to us now and we are pretty sure you are trying to wave bye-bye. We SWEAR you waved bye-bye to Aunt Heidi, who is 7 months pregnant with your first cousin, a baby girl.

You met several friends this month, both of whom were older, and I think this flipped a switch for you because you started crawling the next day! Now you are unstoppable!! You are slowly getting better with the sippy cup; we just continue to try!

I am interested to see what you weigh when we go next month for your appointment...because you are still sporting a tiny butt with some chunker thighs!! You are wearing size 3 diapers Cruisers and overnight diapers because you kept leaking through them.

Little man, your smile and laugh and dimple light up our lives. You are the constant bright spot for us and we love you more and more each day. I have truly loved being home with you this summer and I am dreading Wednesday's drop-off at the sitter's house :(

Logan: 7 Months

Seriously? 7 months (well, and a few days now)? How did this happen? How do I have a 7 month old??

I have to say that this monthly photo shoot has been my favorite because he was in the best mood and SO DARN SILLY. I have some great pictures and had a hard time narrowing them down.

Anyway, little man, your personality is shining more and more.  You are a total flirt and love to be around people.  Anyone who comes across you tells me what a happy baby you are and you just smile and smile.  You have  been to many firsts this month: the Rainforest, the Cleveland Zoo, and you have been swimming!  At first, when you are in the pool, you aren't sure of what to make of it, but after that, you start to splash and have fun!

Things you are doing this month:
-Blowing raspberries, and as of the other day, clicking your tongue.  You also say "dadadadada" over and over.  And you SQUEAL and SCREAM constantly.

-You drink 4 8-ounce bottles a day, a fruit/cereal mix for breakfast, a fruit for lunch, and a veggie for dinner.  I have started giving you puffs and yogurt melts and you like those too. 

-We have a nice little summer routine going (although I wish you liked to sleep in).  You are ready for your first nap about an hour after you wake up and it ranges from 1-3 hours.  Then you take a nice afternoon nap as well and you usually nap for a total of 4-5 hours throughout the day.

-Still no teeth, even though you have been teething for what feels like forever.

-You are so good-natured that it truly amazes me.  You rarely cry and if you do, it is usually for a good reason.

-When you are around your friends (Ian, Ellie, Addison, or the other kiddos and babies you see), you just sit and take it all in. 

Little man, I love you to the moon and back.  Thank you for making my life complete.

Logan's Half Birthday

Little man, how is it you are six months old? Seriously, WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE????

At your 6-month appointment, you weighed 16 lbs, 15.5 oz and were 25.5 inches long, with a head circumference of 17 inches. You are in the 50th percentile across the board. With eczema that is being aggravated by the heat :( Poor buddy. You are just moving into your 6-9 month clothing and are moving up to size 3 diapers. We have broken you of your swaddle cold-turkey because it was too darn hot and you kept breaking out of it.
The last month (well, two, since I didn't blog about your 5-month birthday) has gone by in a flash and you continue to amaze me daily. I feel as if your personality is truly blossoming now and you are such a flirt! You love to smile at people and it is a smile that lights up your entire face. And your giggle. Ridiculous. You love it when we tickle your sides or your neck and just LAUGH. It is contagious, and I think you laugh when you hear others laugh as well.



Last month, you found your voice and your feet. We seriously can not keep your feet out of your hands and your mouth now. And the squealing. Or screaming. Or screeching. You certainly want us to hear you and make your presence known constantly. I think you are beginning a tad bit of separation anxiety though, and cry if no one is paying attention to you. But, I will tell you what...you LOVE your Jumperoo. You are a crazy man in it and squeal and scream the entire time you bounce like mad.


For this photo shoot, I had a hard time getting a shot of you sitting up because you just wanted to reach forward to your feet. And then fall over. You are reaching out to our faces now, and have started grabbing noses and hair and lips. No kisses yet, but you kind of just open your mouth WIDE. You love bathtime but are starting to dislike having your clothes changed because you can't move around.

You don't like being on your tummy long because you can't move, but you DO scoot BACKWARDS in your crib. Speaking of that, you have become a belly sleeper from being a side sleeper. We are struggling at night still, and you wake up once to eat but sometimes you won't go back to sleep. We have started to let you fuss it out for naps and bedtime because you smile and think it is playtime. Definitely NOT a battle you are going to win, mister!

We made it through all of the Stage One purees, starting at your 4-month birthday, and now are on Stage Two. You have been eating cereal for breakfast, a fruit for lunch and a veggie for dinner, but we are bumping you down to only two meals because you don't seem as interested in your bottle as you once were and aren't eating them completely.

Speaking of which, bottles INSTANTLY put you to sleep, which causes you to fight us, especially at night. It can be exhausting.


Summer vacation starts for Mommy on Thursday and I just can't wait to spend the next 3 months being a stay-at-home mama!!

Logan's 5 Month Pictures

I am a terrible Mommy blogger. I was so wrapped up in the show at the beginning of May that I never posted Logan's 5 month pictures and update. Because his half-birthday is on Tuesday, I wanted to post these so we can admire the adorableness.

Logan: Four Months!

Little man, how is it you are four whole months old already?You are truly a delight to be around and your smile is truly infectious. You are already winning the hearts of everyone who meets you. It is a smile that lights up your entire face, as well as the faces of those around you.Soon after you had your three month birthday, you really "found" your hands. Before that, they would occasionally find their way into your mouth, but now? Constant. And holy cow, kid, you are LOUD when you are nom noming on them! You are grasping things (especially your giraffe-blanket stuffed animal thing) and bringing them into your mouth.
We have JUST recently heard you giggle for the first time. You are constantly cooing and making noises that sound like trapped giggles, but you laughed at Alexys on Monday night for the first time!Mama got excited and started you on a bit of rice cereal. At first, you cried and hated it. But now, you open your mouth for the spoon and lean towards it! Your pediatrician has cleared you to have cereal for breakfast and another solid at dinner. We tried peas and you actually didn't seem to mind them too much! We also put together your jumperoo, but you are still way too short for it and still too small for your highchair. During dinner you hang in your Bumbo or bouncy seat with us and laugh away.
We thought you had an ear infection last week so took you to the pediatrician. Your ears were clear but your gums are swollen and you are, in fact, teething! At your 4-month appointment, you weighed 14 lbs, 7 oz and shot up to 25 inches long! You are finally on the charts for height and are in the 50th percentile for everything.

Little man, you brighten each day with your smiles and there is nothing I love more than being your mommy. Thank you for being so amazing.

Logan: Three Months!

Logan, how are you three months old already??

This is his serious face. Actually, he was watching his goofy sisters try to make him smile for the camera.


This month, you are beginning to develop quite the little personality! You are smiling ALL OF THE TIME and you make my mornings wonderful by being full of smiles first thing in the morning. It doesn't get better than that for a working mama.

You still dislike tummy time, but love to lay on your back on your play mat and kick your feet like crazy! Still no signs of rolling over but I think you may go right to scooting because you look like you have places to go! We have started putting you in your Bumbo seat and you are still working on your head control because you are still a little wobbly!
You are becoming more responsive and are smiling directly at us now. Your big sisters LOVE it when you give them a huge, gum-filled grim and it sends them into a tailspin of giggles. You have found your voice as well and are constantly cooing and screeching and are on the borderline of a true giggle, but I don't think you have given us a real giggle yet. You love smiling at Daddy's goofy faces and he always gives you a little tap on the nose and you wait for the next one by scrunching up your nose and face.

You continue to astound me every day and I love watching you discover new things. You have still not mastered gripping anything except fingers yet, but I catch you reaching for things now. It won't be long!

Little man, I love you more each day. I am counting down the days until summer vacation when we can have long days in the yard together! I love you!

Logan: Two Months

Mister Man, I can't believe you are two months old today! You are getting so big I can hardly stand it. It has been a big month for us and you are getting so big and changing so much it is ridiculous!

You are finally out of your newborn clothing and into your 0-3 clothes. You were so skinny when we brought you home and you are definitely chubbing up now! You are eating between 4-6 ounces at each feeding and typically eat 6 times a day.
Mommy went back to work this month and you started going to your babysitter's house. You love being at Linda's and love her boxer named Brutus, who smothers you with kisses every morning. We are working on a nice morning routine. You either get up at 5 AM and eat then snooze in your crib or bounce while I shower and get ready for work or you sleep until 6 AM and I get ready before feeding you. Whatever the case, you fall asleep in the car on the way to Linda's and are usually out like a light by the time we get there.
You do not like to nap during the day; I think you are afraid of missing something! Sometimes you nap when we get home from work and sometimes after your 5 PM bottle. We are working on a nighttime routine. Bath at 7:30, book, bottle, bed at 9:30. You still wake up once during the night and Mommy and Daddy can't wait for that to stop!

This month, you started smiling and cooing! I love love love seeing your big, gummy grins first thing in the morning. It seriously starts my day off wonderfully. We put you in your bouncy seat while we eat dinner and you usually smile and coo and laugh the whole time.
Even though I am already back at work, I spend quite a bit of my day wondering how my little man is doing. And I look forward to all of the snuggles I get in the evening. And I miss you terribly every minute I am away from you.

Logan: One Month

(yes, this is a few days late. Whoops!)

This pictures cracks me up, so I had to put it in. We were NOT happy about the paparazzi-style pictures this day, lol.



Oh, little man! I can't believe you have been an outside baby for an entire month! Seriously, where has the time gone?

Every day, I fall more and more in love with you. You are doing new things all the time and it amazes me how much you have changed since the day you were born! It breaks my heart knowing that I will be going back to work in a few weeks, but I know that Daddy and I have chosen the best person to be in charge of you on a daily basis, so that is definitely a comfort. There are many times when I don't want to put you down because I relish the time we are spending together, one-on-one.

What has happened during your first month of life:

You have had more visitors than I can count. Your grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousin Maranda love you to pieces. They can't get enough of you and look for reasons to come visit.

For the first two and a half weeks, you slept in the pack and play in our room. Daddy and I decided that you did not like being in there with us and that we were disturbing YOUR sleep, so we moved you to your crib. It was an adjustment, but you sleep in there every night now.

You hate, hate, HATE bath time. I hope this changes soon, because you scream bloody murder while in the bath. And try to eat my hand while I am washing you off.

You also strongly dislike most diaper changes. You seem to be getting better with them and might be hating them LESS, but you definitely don't like getting changed.

You are still in your newborn clothes, but they are getting smaller. Your footed jammies are almost too small and so are your onesies.

You are a formula-fed baby and are now eating 4-6 ounces at a feeding. During the day, you eat 4, but at night, you easily eat 5-6. When you are hungry, you try and eat your hands. Or shirtsleeves. It is hilarious and you make the funniest snorting noises.

Sleep-wise, you are not sleeping through the night yet, but I am hoping that is coming before I go back to work. You typically go down for the night around 11 PM and will sleep until anywhere between 2 AM and 3 AM. Either Daddy or I give you a bottle, and you are back asleep until 6-7 AM. After your first morning feeding, sometimes you go back to sleep and sometimes you feel it is necessary to be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and ready for the day. For the most part, you go back to sleep until 9 or 10. You will nap for a few hours throughout the day, but you seem to not like to have a set napping schedule.

You don't like tummy-time, but we are working on it. But you have been holding your head up and looking around since you were born! You love to look around when you are being burped.

Where you go, Ozzie goes. He thinks you are his pup and is always trying to protect you.

You gained 1 and a half lbs. in TWO WEEKS!!

And I SWEAR, today you social-smiled at me when I was changing your diaper. It had nothing to do with pooping/farting/falling asleep. It was a real smile. I swear.

Logan, we love you more than anything. I can't wait to see what this month brings!
